Obviously another homage to College Humor. We basically did this short to stretch our animation muscles before going into the full production of the 22 minutes TV pilot.

This is something Or and I always do to anyone who dares leaves his Facebook open for us (That and change his profile pic to Hitler)

This was obviously influenced by the amazingly funny “College Humor” shorts of  “Jake and Amir” and “Hardly Working”.

We decided to open an “Ahmed & Salim” production blog to keep you updated on what were doing without making in real human contact.  Plus we really wanted to design the header.

It’s pretty much all about the header.

Anyway, Here we would answer fan questions, Post stupid shit and upload new stuff as well as “in progress” photos. It would basically serve as something to do between long animation sessions right before we try to hang ourselves.

Here’s a little background story about Ahmed & Salim for those of you who are interested enough:
Or and I met in high school through a film project of a mutual friend 4 years ago. I was the actor and Or was the editor. Between takes we realized we had the same exact nerdy humor which is so rare only about 4 ten-year-olds with severe autism can actually relate to it.
We started filming our own comedy sketches in Hebrew (http://www.sugarzaza.com) and then moved on to animation.

Ahmed & Salim came to us through the idea of taking something horrific like terrorism and mocking it. We also wanted to do something in gibberish instead of using an actual language.

Quick Facts:

1. Ahmed & Salim are animated in Flash 5 (Yes, you heard me right) Rendered through After Effects and edited in Avid Liquid Edition.
2.  We write, Storyboard, Record, Draw, Animate and edit everything ourselves because well, We have no other options.
3.  A 5 minute episode takes about a week to make from the idea to the final product.
4.  We DO NOT hate Arabs or Muslims, But we do think they’re religion, And any other religion as a matter a fact, is completely ridiculous.
5.  Were both 21 and from Israel.
6.  Tom is a graphic designer and a columnist and Or is a film editor and a graphic designer as well.
7.  I enjoy performing fellatio on myself.
8. “Sugar Zaza” is the name of our animation company (Which is basically Or’s room and a laptop) but we actually had to sign it as a company so we could
make deals with rich assholes.
